Burger King vs McDonalds

Burger King vs McDonalds: What is your favorite fast food chain?

The battle between McDonald’s Corporation and Burger King represents one of the most iconic and important business rivalries in world history. McDonald’s has always been the larger company, but each firm has unquestionably influenced the other over the course of their six-decade-plus rivalry. But which side are you on Burger King or McDonald’s?

Burger King vs McDonalds

Burger King

Burger King has long been at odds with its rival burger chain, McDonald’s. And whether you have a favorite or not, there’s no denying that the Whopper is a beast of a burger on its own. Out of all of the fast food’s most iconic dishes — you know; the bucket of chicken, the BMT, the Frosty, that other famous burger from the Place We Won’t Mention Here — the Whopper might just be the original. Introduced over 60 years ago, this legendary sandwich has become a staple of the burger world and a guaranteed seller for Burger King outlets all over the globe. Besides, It has expanded to 79 countries. With 13,000 locations worldwide, BK can be found in France, Germany, Sweden, Spain, South Africa, Russia, Malaysia, Fiji, Vietnam, Colombia, Trinidad, Nicaragua, and more. You know, so you can stop upon Whoppers while you’re abroad.

There is no confusion about Burger King’s value proposition. It is just as good as McDonald’s, with the same products, just slightly more upscale and, possibly, cheaper. BK also subtly illuminates McDonald’s oft-criticized nutritional value by offering the new “Satisfries,” or a French fry option with “40% less fat and 30% fewer calories than the leading French fries that is also good for your health.”

McDonald’s

McDonald’s is the largest fast food restaurant chain in the United States and represents the largest restaurant company in the world, both in terms of customers served and revenue generated. Its franchises span 36,000 individual units across nearly 120 countries, employ 1.5 million people including franchisees and serve more than 65 million meals each year. In 2012, a BBC report revealed that McDonald’s is the world’s second-largest private employer as they employ 1.8 million people.

One reason for the success of McDonald’s is their advertising campaigns. To achieve such spectacular results, this company spends a phenomenal amount on their marketing. In 2013 alone, McDonald’s spent a whopping $808 million on advertising.

One strategy that McDonald’s used to make its brand recognizable and stand out from the competition was to create themselves a mascot. This is the world-famous Ronald McDonald clown who is instantly recognizable for his huge smile and for his bold outfit in red and yellow. The Ronald McDonald Clown is more recognizable than Santa Claus.

In response to the complaints and to follow changing eating trends, McDonald’s introduced a range of healthy eating options to its menus. These include fish, salads, fruit, and smoothies. However, it may surprise you to learn that a Caesar salad from McDonald’s is just as unhealthy as one of their Big Macs.

The logo of McDonald’s is instantly recognizable. The yellow ‘M’ shape is the initial of McDonald’s and is called the Golden Arches. Since 2006, the Golden Arches have been used alone as the logo. This is probably because these are so recognizable that there is not the need to include the brand name.

cardio workout at home

Do you prefer to do your cardio workout at home or outside?

There’s no need to exceed your budget for workout classes or a gym membership if you have an open patch of floor space in your house or if you can use the outdoor spaces freely throughout the day. Whether you stay at home or go outside for working out, you need to just focus on what you are doing either way. Working out in the environment that fits your needs determines your preference. According to the American Heart Association, as little as 10 to 15 minutes of exercise at a time can boost your cardiovascular health. But the question is would you prefer to spend this 15-minute-routine at home or outside?

cardio workout at home

Home Workout

You don’t need to pack your bag, fill up your water, match your clothing, drive anywhere, try to find a parking space, or deal with the crowds of people. It sounds great, right? You are the ruler of your own house. You can play the music you like and you can even train with your underwear. No one can interfere with you. You can try new exercises without fear of embarrassment. No one is looking at you, and you are totally on your own. It makes you save a lot of time not having to drive back and forth to the gym. And most importantly, being at home is more hygienic and convenient for the ones who hate sweat all over the machines, and sweaty and breathless exercisers all over. But for the lazy people home may not be the best option. Because when you are at home there are countless excuses to skip your workout. If you are not a self-motivated person, you can find yourself avoiding workouts with nonsense things!!

Outdoor Workout

According to studies, outdoor exercise has a lot of benefits for both the body and mind. After outdoor training, people report feeling revitalized, less angry and full of energy. Outdoors can greatly affect your enthusiasm, stress and anxiety levels. Many people prefer outdoors because of the scenery and a variety of terrains. You can enjoy the beauty of nature. In the country or suburbs, the homes and gardens may give your day the serene beginning you need. Many runners prefer the outdoors to a treadmill, as the constantly changing backdrop fights boredom and offers hillier courses. Most outdoor exercise forms are completely free, so not working out because you don’t have the money for a gym membership is no longer a viable excuse. But when you exercise outside you must deal with weather changes. If it’s raining outside, the cozy bed may attract you more than propel you into action. The limited daylight in these months also prevents people from outdoor workouts, as it’s often been dark for hours by the time many get home from work.

Home Workout or Outdoor Workout?

Every location offers a lot of benefits, but they both have some downsides to them, as well. So, as we presented you the pros and cons of both the home workout and the outdoor training, it’s, now, up to you to decide which one is more suitable for you. Whichever you decide, we really want to hear your answers and reasons. So it is time to kill some fat!

ketchup vs mustard

Ketchup vs Mustard: What is your favorite condiment?

Condiments can make bland foods taste better and good foods taste great. You can never think fries or a hot dog without ketchup or mustard, right? They are usually given a free ride because, well, it’s only a spoonful. They’re typically overlooked, or brushed off as “harmless,” or eaten in such small quantities that their effects seem negligible. But like they have some harms for your body, they have many benefits as well. So do you want to take a look at the facts about them

ketchup vs mustard

Ketchup

Ketchup goes with just almost everything—French fries, eggs, hash browns, burgers, deli meats… It is a low-calorie condiment, made from tomatoes, vinegar, salt, pepper, and spices. It contains 15 calories per tablespoon and vitamins A and C. Do you know that, back in the ’80s, the Reagan administration proposed counting ketchup as a vegetable in school lunches. This idea, of course, didn’t survive long!

The good thing about ketchup is that it is much lower in calories than some other condiments, such as mayonnaise. It also contains far less fat than mayo and it does provide some lycopene, an antioxidant that helps prevent multiple health problems. Unfortunately, the bad far outweighs the good. Although ketchup has the 5 simple ingredients listed above, food companies have devirginized its ingredient list by adding stuff like high fructose corn syrup, natural flavoring, and tomato concentrate. High fructose corn syrup is extremely unhealthy and toxic. It is produced from corn that has been genetically modified. While a single tablespoon of ketchup may not be too bad, piling on the ketchup could easily result in overloading on sodium. A tablespoon-size serving has four grams of sugar, which is more sugar than a typical chocolate chip cookie. But how many of you actually limit the serving size to one tablespoon?

Mustard

The taste is not the only quality that mustard possesses. It is a multitalented botanical with different varieties. But white mustard, black mustard, and brown mustard have gained more popularity over the others. They are a rich source of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. Along with this, it is a good source of dietary folate and vitamin-A as well. Mustard greens or leaves have a very good amount of vitamin A, which may help in promoting eye health and contains fiber which enhances digestion. It is an energizing vegetal, which is effective in relieving stiff muscles, aching joints, congested phlegm, tumors, and pneumonia.

Be careful, not to consume too much of it; yellow mustard is also high in sodium, which can increase your risk of heart disease if consumed in excess. However, the yellow mustard sauce that you put on your hot dog is a low-calorie food. Unlike the other additives like Mayo or Ketchup, these sauces are low in sugar, or unhealthy fats, and possess several health benefits.

Ketchup or Mustard?

They do both good and harm to your body. So just avoid consuming excessive amounts and sauces with high preservatives or high sodium content. When shopping for the healthiest and most nutritious options, choose brands with the shortest/simplest and most recognizable ingredients lists with no artificial colors, sweeteners or preservatives. When you know the limits of your body, you are always good!

Do you smoke

Do you smoke?

No matter how you smoke it, tobacco is dangerous to your health. There are no safe substances in any tobacco products, from acetone and tar to nicotine and carbon monoxide. Despite the worldwide fall of the smoking percentages, the number of cigarette smokers has increased due to population growth, according to new research from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. So, in this case, which side of the population are you on? Do you smoke?

Do you smoke

Why you smoke?

Here are some reasons that the smokers come up with:

  • Smoking is a pleasure.
  • It gives me more energy.
  • Smoking helps me relax when I am tense, upset, or depressed.
  • I crave cigarettes; it is an addiction.
  • Smoking relieves my boredom and loneliness.
  • It helps control my weight.
  • Smoking helps me fit in with other people.

Social Effects

Smoking is less socially acceptable now than ever. Today, almost all workplaces have some type of smoking rules. Some employers even prefer to hire non-smokers. Landlords may choose not to rent to smokers since maintenance costs and insurance rates may rise when smokers live in buildings. Friends may ask you not to smoke in their homes or cars. Public buildings, concerts, and even sporting events are largely smoke-free. And more and more communities are restricting smoking in all public places, including restaurants and bars. Smokers may also find their prospects for dating or romantic involvement, including marriage, are largely limited to other smokers, who make up less than 21% of the adult population.

Physical Effects

Tobacco smoke contains over 60 known cancer-causing chemicals. Smoking harms nearly every organ in the body, causing many diseases and reducing health in general. The mortality rate for smokers is three times that of people who never smoked. While the effects of smoking may not be immediate, the complications and damage can last for years. The good news is that quitting smoking can reverse many effects. Your risk of heart disease will start to decrease, and after 15 years of not smoking, your risk will fall to the same level as that of a non-smoker. Just try to replace smoking with other behaviors. Distract yourself and keep your hands busy. Try a new hobby, chew gum, sip on water or exercise! Being active can curb nicotine cravings and ease some withdrawal symptoms. When you want to reach for a cigarette, put on your jogging shoes instead. Even mild exercise helps, such as walking your dog or pulling weeds in the garden. The calories you burn through the gym or home workout will also prevent you from gaining weight as you quit smoking.

Beside these accepted truths about being a smoker, we really want to hear your side and opinions on smoking. Let us know if you smoke or if you are totally against it with your reasons.

  • Unconscious sports may cause severe injuries. In the gymnasium, both the facility construction and the training program that your instructors will apply for you are set to reduce the risk of injury to the least.
  • Your motivation will be at the highest level. It is a direct motivation factor to adhere to the specially prepared program for you. Moreover, by observing the others in the hall, you can be influenced positively by them both psychologically and physically.
  • Exercise classes are motivating and social. Through group activities, you can participate in pilates, yoga, zumba, interact with other participants, play sports, and socialize while doing exercises.
  • There is equipment in the gym that does not fit in your room, and that is not wanted to be purchased with your own money.
  • You can also find answers to your questions about your healthy diet. Moreover, many gyms have steam rooms, massages, and skin treatments.

Home Workout

  • You are the ruler of your own house. You can play the music you like and you can even train with your underwear. No one can interfere with you.
  • You Never Have to Face the Cold. The weather cannot keep you from going to the gym.
  • It’s Cheaper – There’s no membership fee and you can outfit your home gym with a few resistance bands and an exercise ball.

Walking or Running

Do you prefer walking or running?

Walking and running are both popular ways to get a great cardio workout. Those who regularly do either typically have healthier hearts, stronger bones, and lower body weights than their sedentary counterparts. But whether one is preferable to the other in terms of improving health has been debated for years. Deciding which is right for you depend on your goals and your current fitness level. Let’s have a look at the effects of both on your body and decide together: Walking or running?

Walking or Running

Benefits of Walking and Running

Experts warn you as “Walk!”, “Exercise!” and “Move!” to live a healthy life, to keep your genes, body, brain, and soul dynamic and healthy. The 30-minute walk/run every day is enough for both physical recovery and happiness.

The benefits of walking/running 10 000 steps a day:

  • It increases your metabolism speed and allows you to lose weight even while you are resting.
  • Helps control your appetite.
  • Boosts the level of energy in your body.
  • Reduces the level of cholesterol.
  • Lowers high blood pressure.
  • Helps to control and prevent diabetes.
  • The risk for certain types of cancer, such as the breast, prostate and gastrointestinal tract, is reduced.
  • Provides assistive rehabilitation for diseases such as heart attack and stroke.
  • Prevents intestinal disorders.
  • Regulates the sleep pattern.
  • The risk of bone loss, which seems to be the fate of older women, is reduced.
  • Increases sexual desire.
  • Reduces the risk of Alzheimer.
  • Helps to quit smoking.

But what are the differences?

  • Running gives you more fat-burning benefits in less time. A 160-pound person can burn 800 calories in one hour by running compared to only 300 calories in that time walking.
  • Walking is a low-impact exercise, which makes it safer than running. Walking can provide similar health benefits to running with less chance of injury. On the other hand, running puts more stress on the body and can be hard on your feet and joints and lead to sprains, strains, shin splints, and blisters.
  • Running improves your conditioning and endurance better than walking. Those who engage in running regularly will be able to do physical work for longer periods of time and have greater stamina than those who only walk.
  • Running may regulate appetite hormones better than walking. Runners generally tend to consume fewer calories than they’d burnt, while walkers tend to consume more. So runners may lose more weight than walkers no matter how far the walkers go.

Walking or Running?

Well, which one is your preference after all? Of course, you don’t have to stick to either walking or running. You can stay motivated by mixing it up. Just don’t forget to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise routine either way and do not postpone your goals. Get moving today!

On the other hand, many people with visual impairment always have the same question in their minds: Should I wear contact lenses or glasses? According to experts, both have advantages and disadvantages. If you’d like to, after reviewing both, give the decision yourself.

contact lenses or glasses

Advantages of Glasses

  • They are easier to use,
  • Decrease your risk for eye infections and do not create any risks in terms of eye health and safety,

  • You must convert the sunglasses to prescription glasses in order to be able to use them effectively,
  • Cannot match with every style,
  • Condensation on your glasses in hot-cold weather changes,
  • Limit the visual angle,
  • Make some marks on the nose when you take off your glasses.

Advantages of Contact Lenses

  • They are more suitable for people who do not want to wear glasses for aesthetic purposes,
  • Have wider visual angle since integrated with eyes,

Coffee or Tea

Coffee People vs Tea People

Are you a Coffee or Tea person? That is the question we find very interesting since we barely hear the answer as “both of them”. People generally choose their sides and hardly changes their preferences.

We observed that most of the people who smoke are more prone to drink coffee than tea. As for tea, some people consume it just for having a healthy life. There are several kinds of tea such as Green tea, oolong, mint, white and rooibos tea. They are mostly preferred than any other kinds of tea because of their ability to boost metabolism, losing the fat, relaxing the body & mind and having better blood pressure.

Tea

According to an article of “health benefits linked to drinking tea” at Harvard Health Publishing of Harvard Medical School, green tea is one of the most beneficial tea for good health. It is told that tea can lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. However, it should not be ignored that their effectiveness should be supported by healthy eating habits to get the maximum utility from them.

Coffee

There is also an interesting article about benefits of coffee called “the latest scoop on the health benefits of coffee” at the same publishing house of Harvard Medical School. The Faculty Editor, Robert H. Shmerling, mentions that there is some evidence of coffee that can be good for you. This statement is also supported by World Health Organization (WHO) since they stated that there is no clear evidence of coffee causes cancer. According to WHO, there is a possibility that “too hot” drinks might cause cancer.

The article also talks about some possible benefits of coffee which are reducing;

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Uterine and liver cancer
