love or money

Would you choose love or money?

The debate goes on for centuries, and there has not been a solid answer to the question: Would you choose love or money? Love would feed your soul and heart by itself. But, can it survive without money? Money can also feed you and make you happy. However, would you not want the warmth of a loved one in your luxurious life? These questions seem to be with us for the centuries to come.

Does Money Mean Happiness?

Money is the key to many doors. It can open up many opportunities and paths to success. In some cases, it can bring happiness to one. Because of all these, some people choose money over everything else. They think money is the solution to every problem and it is enough to find happiness on its own. But, there are opposite thoughts as well. Some people would choose anything else, mostly family and love, over money. Money is not the goal for them, it is the path leading to goals. Psychologists also say that people should not seek happiness with money. Moreover, they claim that people should buy experiences instead of goods to be happier. So, as we can see, the debate over love or money even reverberates the usage of money.

What About Love?

Love makes people dizzy. It wraps around all over the body and blinds one. Sometimes, it can make people have wrong ideas about others, or it can make them decide poorly. Yet, some people put their loved ones or even their feeling of love in front of anything else. That can be bad for people who are not decisive and fragile. Quick decisions that are made in an instant because of love could lead to devastating results. However, there can also be the reverse of that. Love can make people happier because of its biology. Hormones and self-assurance can even be good for health.

What is more important: love or money?

In the modern world, happiness is thought to be bound to neither love nor money. There should be a harmony between all the feelings of one. Yet, regardless of happiness, people are inclined to some attributes and qualities. And that reflects and affects their lives in both positive and negative ways. Tell us which one do you prefer, love or money? Also, when planning the future which one is more effective?

the Red Pill or the Blue Pill

Would you choose the Red Pill or the Blue Pill?

Do you prefer the brutal truth of reality or the blissful ignorance of illusion? The Matrix asked this philosophical question to the millions of people as “the Red Pill or the Blue Pill?”. We will discuss the depths of this question.

the Red Pill or the Blue Pill

The Matrix

It has been 19 years since we watched one of the most incredible movies of all time. The Matrix was first screened on 31 March 1999. In the movie, there are many references to historical myths and philosophical subjects like existentialism and nihilism. Please note that next paragraphs may include some spoilers regarding the movie. Beyond any doubt, one of the most memorable scenes was in the very beginning of the movie. Morpheus explains Neo that the world we live is just a fabricated reality of the Matrix and offers the way to the enlightenment with these words:

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I’m offering is the truth. Nothing more.

The Red Pill

The red color refers to a human that is aware of the life. It allows the locating the subject’s body in the real world. Morpheus offers knowledge, freedom, and adversity with this pill. However, all these merits come with a price (as Neo will learn later).

The Blue Pill

The blue pill allows the subject to remain in the illusion of life created by the Matrix. This pill offers falsehood, security, and happiness. The first reference that comes to one’s mind is “ignorance is bliss”!

The Red Pill or the Blue Pill

As you would remember, Neo takes the red pill and his journey begins in the real world. Morpheus rescues him and shows the reality of the Matrix. The Matrix is an advanced computer simulation of life and the Earth. It was created by the Architect in order to use the body heat and bio-electricity of the human bodies, while their minds are controlled and manipulated.

Nevertheless, the basic premise of this headline question is the difference between ignorance and awareness. Does ignoring things prevent us from getting hurt? Or do the things that we don’t know may hurt us as well? If you were Neo, would you choose the brutal truth of reality (the red pill) or the blissful ignorance of illusion (the blue pill)?
